Welcome to our class webpage. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Elementary Education. This is my fifth year teaching 3rd grade at Wood Elementary but I have attended Lexington School District 2 schools since I was in kindergarten. I love this school and all of my students! I am so excited about this new school year. I cannot wait to experience the learning that will take place in our single-gender (ALL GIRLS) class! I am sure we will do amazing things this year. I am also excited about the implementation of Habits of Mind in our classroom and school. Out of the 16 Habits of Mind, we have decided to focus on five: Persisting, Managing your Impulsivity, Thinking about your Thinking (Metacognition), Taking Responsible Risks, and Listening with Understanding and Empathy. Ask your student what they know about these habits!
I look forward to a rewarding year full of growth and learning. Please check back often to see activities happening in our classroom.
